Luncheons & Breakfast

This year luncheons are available at an additional fee with reservations made during the online registration at  Locations are all onsite at the McAllen Convention Center Center.

    • “Prevention of Child Abuse/
      Walk to Action”
  • Description:
    • The Walk To Action is an annual event to raise funds and awareness for Prevent Child Abuse Texas. In the past W2A has been a 20 mile trek, but this year, in an effort to involve more families, it has been shortened to a half day event that includes the San Antonio Zoo. Prevent Child Abuse Texas is a statewide non-profit group that works to protect children by educating all who work with them in the prevention of child abuse.

    • “My husband, Mark, and I became involved with Prevent Child Abuse Texas after our 2 year old daughter, Maggie, was killed by her babysitter in 1998. Mark became a stay at home dad for our son, Matt.  I still practice small animal medicine and surgery in Harlingen.  Since 1998 we have continued to work locally and statewide to prevent child abuse.” – Kathy

The Christian Education Department will again host a gathering of Christian Educators for a working lunch in Room 101C beginning at 11:00 am on Thursday, Feb 18. Cost is $25/person.

  • Priests, staff, and volunteers of Adult, Children, Youth and Family Ministries are invited to participate and mingle with fellow church workers.  Space is limited to 50 so please register early.
  • Come listen, participate and learn about the new and improved way of Christian Formation. This lunch gathering will be informative and worth attending with experienced diocesan Christian Education directors sharing experiences, results of a Diocesan-wide Christian Formation survey, suggestions for modern-day Christian Formation, and curriculum for all ages.

butterflyThe annual Clergy Spouse Breakfast, in Room 101C, will begin at 8:00 am on Friday Feb. 19.   Cost is included in the Clergy Spouse registration price.

This is an opportunity for clergy spouses to gather for food and fellowship. We will also welcome our newest spouses to our community of DWTX Clergy Spouses.

The Bishops’ Luncheon, in Exhibit Hall B, will be at 12 noon on Friday, Feb. 19.  Cost is $30/person.601254_520081091369177_7796058_n

  • During the luncheon, our speaker Bob Goff will present for the second time.
  • Bob Goff is the New York Times Best-Selling Author of Love Does, as well as an attorney who founded Restore International, a nonprofit human rights organization operating in Uganda, India and Somalia. Bob is a sought after speaker for leadership, church and university events, inspiring current and future influencers to get to the ”do” part of life.
