In preparing for the 108th Annual Diocesan Council, to be held at the McAllen Convention Center on Feb. 16-18, 2012, the diocesan Nominating Committee is developing the roster of nominees. These related web pages contain the offices to be filed with job descriptions along with the Episcopal Church Canons and the Diocesan canons that apply. A full copy of the Constitutions and Canons of the Episcopal Diocese of West Texas is available at the Bishop Jones Center or on the diocesan website at: www.dwtx.org.
The Nominating Committee is seeking the names of those individuals who may be called to serve in a variety of offices for the Diocese. Be part of this process by your prayers and the active encouragement of faithful and skilled leaders in your congregations to allow their names to be offered for nomination and possible election to the various offices which will be filled by the 2012 Diocesan Council.
Click here for a biographical data sheet to make nominations. Please feel free to photocopy (or complete on-line) as many copies as needed. Once completed, nomination forms should be signed and submitted to Laura Woodall in the Bishop’s office along with a digital photograph (.jpg format). When encouraging people to submit their names for nomination please remind them that their willingness to share their leadership skills is vital to the ministry and mission of the Diocese. Please also remind them that this is a discernment process, thus not all names will make the final ballot. However, individuals may be nominated from the floor of Council.
Thank you for taking the time to see to this process. With your help, we can present a good slate of nominees for election at Diocesan Council and continue to provide strong, faithful leadership for the Diocese of West Texas.
All persons recommended must be 16 years or older
and communicants within the convocation from which they are being nominated.
