Computer Recycling

Computers gathering dust?
Bring them to Council.

The Ecological Stewardship Committee is again hosting a computer recycling event on the opening day of Council 2010 in Corpus Christi.  Chuck Shamel, member of All Saints’, Corpus Christi, will have pickup trucks available for drop-off from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm on Thursday, February 18, 2010 in the parking lot of the AmericanBank Center.  (Exact location still to be determined.)  Items will be hauled to the South Texas Goodwill donation center.

Goodwill is a partner with Dell Reconnect http://reconnectpartnership.com/ which states, “Reconnect is a residential computer recycling program that offers you an easy, convenient and responsible way to recycle your used computer equipment.  You can drop off any brand of used equipment.”  It’s free and you’ll be helping protect the environment while benefiting the Corpus Christi community at the same time.  Security is assured as the computers are not resold.  Only components are recycled.  Acceptable items are:

  • Monitors
  • CPU’s
  • Laptops
  • Printers
  • Scanners
  • Fax Machines
  • PDA’s
  • Computer Peripherals (mice, keyboards, etc)
  • Cat 45 wires
  • Routers
  • Adapters
  • Network Equipment (switches and servers)
